What are the responsibilities and job description for the DOCKETING SPECIALIST position at MVA Brand?

Moore & Van Allen has an immediate need on its Intellectual Property team for a part-time Docketing Specialist. Responsibilities include opening and distributing incoming correspondences, keeping electronic files up-to-date, docketing USPTO and foreign patent and trademark deadlines, interacting with others in the docketing department, paralegals, and attorneys on docketing matters and procedures.  Prior docketing and patent/trademark experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a law firm setting required; Intellectual property experience preferred
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Organized with excellent time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Eager to learn – ambitious – passionate
  • Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this interactive position.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • The work is primarily sedentary.
  • It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
