Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of machining equipment, including CNC and manual lathes and grinders under the supervision of senior machinists.
- Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in production processes, including machining, welding, and assembly.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to understand tool specifications and design requirements.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to prepare materials and machine setups.
- Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines in the workshop.
- Troubleshoot minor issues with machines and assist in the setup of tools and fixtures.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and optimize machine performance.
- Document and track progress through regular evaluations and apprenticeships milestones.
- Learn and apply basic machining principles and practices, including machining materials, cutting tools, and tooling setups.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interest in learning machining and manufacturing processes.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, including measurements, fractions, and conversions.
- Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and measurement instruments.
