Job Overview: Steel Detailing Manager
We are seeking an experienced Steel Detailing Manager to join our team. This role requires a strong background in structural steel detailing, with a preference for Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel detailing
- Structural steel experience is required
- PEMB experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures is a must
- No remote work available due to the hands-on nature of the position
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage an in-house team of detailers, and collaborate with outsourced detailing companies
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication shops to create fabrication drawings, erection drawings, shipper lists, and CNC files
- Ensure quality control (QC) on all detailing produced by both internal team and outside partners
- Provide direction and support to field crews when needed
- Coordinate material orders from vendors
- Manage RFIs (Request for Information)
- Handle field measurements of existing conditions
- Extrapolate data from 3D point clouds
