• Our top-tier client is looking for an Electrical Engineering Consultant with 2-3 years’ experience in Power Systems.
• Assisting MAS Engineers (MOD Administrators) with network model data handling in MOD.
• Formatting data received from TOs into PSS/E compatible automation files with the required modeling conventions.
• Updating the NE model in MOD.
• Creating MOD Basecases for Transmission Owners, MMWG.
• Updating generation profiles by collating data from various sources and establishing a mapping between resources, assets, Bus Numbers and uploading data (contingencies, project data, load profiles and resource data) to the BaseCase Database and managing it.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Uploading the above-mentioned data to MOD and the BaseCase Database and maintance.
• Assisting PSMM-MAS Engineers with routine data-intensive tasks related to steady state, stability, short circuit adn GMS cases.
• Performing preliminary review and validation of modeling data received in MOD & BCDB, working on updating established guides and procedures.
• Assisting PSMM-MAS team to automate case building, maintenance scripts using JAVA, Python.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with power systems experience.
• The position requires excellent analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to quickly respond to and resolve problems with all aspects of the communications computer systems, application software, user interface and data communications.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment, and to complete tasks independently.
• Ability to work under demanding time constraints.
Desired Experience:
• Power System Engineering experience (direct modeling experience in PSS/E is preferred), Proficiency with PSS/E Power Flow and Dynamics
• Experience with Python programming, ASPEN/Short Circuit data
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
