Accounting Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department by performing various clerical and administrative tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with day-to-day operations. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with GAAP and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

• Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Maintain organized filing systems for accounting documents and records.
• Support budgeting processes by providing necessary data and reports.
• Utilize financial software such as ADP and Quicken for various accounting functions.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits or tax preparation as needed.
• Perform 10 key typing for data input related to financial transactions.

Skills

• Proficiency in data entry with a strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with GAAP principles and public accounting practices.
• Experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial reporting.
• Competence in using financial software, including ADP and Quicken.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration within the team.

• Monday to Friday
