Job Description
We are looking for a positive, energetic, and creative individual to join our talented staff. Our preferred candidate would need to have strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills and be eager to start immediately on a path of shared learning. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, smiling, and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive, responsible, and disciplined. A customer-oriented approach is essential. Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
Duties
- Monitor all classrooms/facility (adhere to proper state codes)
- Assist the Director with planning, managing, and marketing
- Maintain center paperwork: staff files updated to DCF standards, in-service hours, monthly events
- Implements policies and programs
- Supervise teachers - provide mentoring
- Tour the facility when needed it
- Helping when hiring - interviewing staff
- Provide new hiring training
- Monitoring staff to ensure they are accurately performing
- Monitors daily license ratios
- Drive the school bus to transport children safely to and from the center as required.
Requirements
Required Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director is preferred.
- Early childhood classroom teaching experience (Desirable).
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Must be a team player, able to adapt to a continuously changing, fast-paced environment.
- Have a love for children and a strong desire to make a difference.
Required Education/Certifications:
- AA Degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education preferred
- 45 Hours and CDA required
- Director Credential preferred
- CPR and First Aid required
