What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal) position at My Summit Adventures?
We have Part-Time positions available in supervising campers in grade 1st-6th in daily tasks (class rotations, recess, presenters, fieldtrips, etc.), planning as well as implementing activities for a group of 15 campers, and creating a fun and memorable summer for our campers! The role of Summer Camp Staff is to provide a quality, safe, and fun place for campers who are enrolled in Summer Camp. You will be planning and implementing daily projects/activities including, but not limited to: Gym, Arts & Crafts, STEM, Health/Nutrition, etc.
This position reports to the Summer Camp Director and Summer Lead. The Summer Camp Director will provide training, assign group and schedules, assure all other responsibilities and tasks are being properly met by staff, and create a calendar with all summer activities and themes. A Camp Lead will be onsite at all times and act as a point person when Camp Director is not on campus.
Shifts
PM Shift: Starts at 12:45pm (Kids Camp; M-F)
Summer Camp runs from June 9th-Aug 1st for Kids Camp. As a Counselor, you will be expected to be available at the time/schedule assigned to you. There will be a Mandatory Training June 4th and June 5th; times will be available and communicated when position is offered.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Must be able to pass Background Check
· Experience/ability to work with children of various age groups
· CPR/First Aid Certified (Preferred) or willing to become certified during training
· Experience in and knowledgeable of age-appropriate activities, stages of child development, Individual Education Plans, and concepts of learning (Preferred)

· Comfortable meeting and communicating regularly with parents
· Patience and composure while working with children
· Capable in employing age-appropriate behavioral management strategies
· Communicate effectively with students and staff
· Be responsible for planning and implementing activities on schedule
· Able to modify activities according to age and skill levels of campers
