Job Summary
The Housing Navigator plays a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in securing stable housing solutions. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, provide guidance through the housing application process, and connect them with available resources. The Housing Navigator will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and promoting access to affordable housing options.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ housing needs and preferences.
- Assist clients in completing housing applications and navigating property management systems such as OneSite and Yardi.
- Provide information on available housing options, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties.
- Facilitate communication between clients and landlords or property managers to ensure a smooth application process.
- Offer crisis intervention support to clients facing housing instability or emergencies.
- Educate clients about their rights under Fair Housing regulations and assist them in understanding their options.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in making informed decisions about their housing situations.
- Collaborate with social work professionals and community organizations to provide holistic support services to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes while adhering to confidentiality standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of property management practices and systems (OneSite, Yardi).
- Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs and regulations.
- Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in crisis intervention and management techniques.
- Proficient in motivational interviewing methods to engage clients effectively.
- Background in social work or related fields is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
