Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aides to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering personalized care and support in various settings such as home care, group homes, or nursing facilities.
Required: The client requires constant supervision during waking hours for safety reasons, as they have a history of physical aggression and a diagnosis of PICA, which sometimes leads to putting non-food items in their mouth. Due to an unstable living environment and removal from parental care, the client needs a stable, supportive setting to ensure their well-being and safety. We are seeking someone with experience working with minor children who have similar needs, including managing challenging behaviors and ensuring a safe environment. Wages negatable with the right candidates with the experience listed above.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Administer medication as directed and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support individuals with disabilities by facilitating participation in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while providing care.
- Lift and transfer clients safely using proper techniques to prevent injury.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, memory care facilities, or group homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist with mobility as needed.
- Understanding of working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with other disabilities is beneficial.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
