Your Role
Project Overview & Deliverables:
Determine the total heat generated by the current Oil Heaters in order to determine energy usage at various Ambient Temperatures, as well as during various loading demands. As part of this project, determine energy required for Heaters to run standby with Zero Turbulizers as well as the energy required to run up to 5 Turbulizers. Calculate all scenarios at both low and high ambient temperature conditions. Determine if smaller, local dedicated Oil heaters would be more efficient than the current equipment, and also if they might generate lower CO2 discharge and overall cost savings. Research potential alternatives, obtain quotes and put together a FEL 2 level document to propose to local Mgt.
Project Learning Objectives
Heat losses, Mass balance of Heat generation, and Heat demand of the entire Gas fired Oil Heating circuit and its impact on the current process in terms of Gas Usage and CO2 generation given different operating scenarios.
