Program Length: Summer (12-16 Weeks)

Your Role
Project Overview & Deliverables: Project will handle the test and application of new technologies in flowmeter instrumentation - final goal is to use measurements in mill productivity optimization.
The development of flowmeter technology for Roller Mills is a key step in Roller Mill optimization - a critical path for reduction of energy consumption of these equipments and PMA effort in CO2 emission reduction (Roller Mills are a major component of our plants electrical consumption). The project does not include any major mechanical modification, either required for installation and proper calibration of tested equipment - it is expected that work will happen in two different sites - Sylacauga/AL and Marble Hill/GA
Project Learning Objectives
Basic understanding of instrumentation and flow measurements
Basic understanding of a roller mill operation and maintenance
Pilot tests, calibration and fit for usage concepts and application
Working in teams and with different technical skills
Understanding of operational routines and environment
Understanding process decisions and how they affect routine operations on a plant
