Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Factory Manager / General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our plastic manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in managing injection molding machines, overseeing plant operations, and demonstrating strong leadership in team management. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of plant production, ensuring the efficient use of resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement. The role involves managing a team, including hiring, firing, training, and developing staff while ensuring smooth production processes and meeting company goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Management : Oversee all manufacturing processes within the plant, ensuring production goals are met on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Injection Molding Expertise : Manage and optimize the use of injection molding machines and related equipment, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues quickly and effectively.
Staff Management : Lead a team of employees, including supervisors, machine operators, and support staff. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
Production Scheduling : Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring resource allocation meets operational demands and customer delivery deadlines. Ensure minimal downtime and maximize production output.
Quality Control : Monitor product quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Budget and Cost Management : Develop and manage plant budgets, working to control operating costs while ensuring production targets are achieved. Implement strategies for cost reduction and process optimization.
Safety & Compliance : Enforce strict safety standards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance plant processes, increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and implement best practices.
Reporting & Documentation : Maintain accurate records related to production, inventory, staff performance, and safety protocols. Provide regular reports on plant performance to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills :
Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years in a leadership role within a plastic manufacturing environment, with a strong background in injection molding. Experience in managing large teams and overseeing plant operations is essential.
Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of injection molding machines, their maintenance, and troubleshooting. Proficient in machinery optimization and performance monitoring.
Leadership : Proven track record of managing diverse teams, providing direction, motivation, and development opportunities. Experience in hiring, firing, and resolving employee issues.
Problem-Solving : Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or training in plastic manufacturing processes are a plus.
Knowledge : Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Software Proficiency : Experience with manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
