EVENT ASSISTANT
THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL 9-5 JOB. This is a contract job bookable for all or some the dates listed below under "DATES." Myrtie Blue is a wedding and event design company servicing many clients along the "30A" corridor.
By applying for this job you will be asking to book some or all of the dates below in either day shift (set) or night shift (strike) or both.
This is a hands on job that requires the ability to lift some heavy objects and work on ladders. Duties include but are not limited to:
- securely loading and unloading of trucks
- moving of our furniture, props, and tools
- clean and organized worksite
- assistance with the installation of lighting, structures, furnishings, glassware, candles, etc.
- assistance with floral installations
- assistance with removal of furniture, props, and tools at the end of an event
- return of goods to our warehouse
- meals, snacks, and water included
General Work Rules
The event assistant will refrain from the following during booked dates and hours:
- alcohol and or drugs
- unnecessary loud voices or outbursts
- foul language
- aggressive behavior or language between co-workers or colleagues
- improper handling of props, goods, and furniture
- use of or possession of firearms
- chewing of gum
- smoking of any kind during active work
RATES
The pay rate as an Event Assistant is as follows for standard events. Please note all of the events for the Spring 2025 season are considered standard and should not extend beyond normal setup and strike hours of 6:00 am and 2:30 am:
- set (day): 150 (typical 7am-4pm)
- strike (night): 200 (typical 10pm-2:00am)

February:
- Saturday the 8th (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 22nd (set & strike assistance needed)
March:
- Saturday the 1st (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 8th (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 29th (set & strike assistance needed)
April:
- Saturday the 12th (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 26th( set & Strike assistance needed)
May:
- Saturday the 10th (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 17th ( set & strike assistance needed)
June:
- Saturday the 7th (set & strike assistance needed)
- Saturday the 28h (set 7 strike assistance needed)

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Fort Walton Beach, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
