What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet/Event Server position at Mystic Market?
Coastal Gourmet is growing our team for the 2025 season! We are looking to add to our team of Servers to staff upcoming engagements. We focus on weddings, corporate meetings and other large-scale events and we provide a full menu. Servers are responsible for all table service duties as well as prep work and closeout tasks. You will work as a member of the wait staff for food catering events, weddings and banquets. If you've worked in a banquet setting before, love the excitement of weddings & events and the fun of working in setting with beautiful ambiance & decor, we definitely want to hear from you!
Duties include setting tables and buffet areas for service. During service, a Server accommodates all guests and is responsible for serving guests for plated meals, replenishing buffet food, refilling beverages, removing dirty dishes from tables and assist in additional tasks to help facilitate a smooth and efficient service. We'd prefer to hire professionals with previous waitstaff experience. If you've worked in a banquet setting before, we definitely want to hear from you!
Examples of Server responsibilities: Run food from the kitchen to the venue on demand Assist with food and table prep before the event begins Set up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind, ensuring safe food handling performance Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers and other needs Communicate with banquet supervisor as well as other servers and event organizers Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout tasks Banquet Server skills High school diploma/GED preferred
* Previous waitstaff experience a plus Knowledge of catering practices preferred Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation required
