A regional mechanical construction firm located northwest of Boston is seeking a full-time purchasing manager. As a purchasing manager, one will be responsible for purchasing all supplies for the field, shop, and office including but not limited to hanger material, pipe, valves and fittings, tools, and all consumables. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel and vendor relations, along with collaborating effectively with project managers and executive management.
Responsibilities:
· Cost code all purchase orders and invoices appropriate project numbers and associated cost codes.
· Track daily and scheduled deliveries
· Delegate duties and oversee warehouse employees
· Collaborate with accounting to ensure all billing, backorders, and credits are received accurate and promptly
· Utilize Foundation software to compile and track large scale purchase orders
· Negotiate pricing with vendors and uphold good customer relations with current and prospective vendors
· Supervise tool inventory and utilize our tool tracking system to maintain coordination of all tool and equipment repairs
· Set up and track all rental agreements including tools, storage, and office trailers and man-lifts
· Attend and percentage meetings for all projects and provide input on ordering issues (if any) and report to the project team on project budget updates
· Produce submittals per piping systems on all jobs
· Manage tool budgets on all projects
· Responsible for operation and maintenance of the Fleetmatics vehicle GPS program
· Manages truck schedules to ensure all trucks leave on time and drivers are assigned to the correct vehicles, and all truck maintenance and repairs
Qualifications
· 2-3 years of purchasing experience is a must
· Knowledge of Plumbing/ HVAC preferred but not mandatory
· Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal/written communication
· Great negotiating skills
· Possess a strong work ethic
· Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment and can adjust to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected event
· Ability to handle daily tasks and multiple projects simultaneously

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
