Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory control, and daily kitchen operations
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team, ensuring high performance and accountability
  • Maintain quality control for all dishes leaving the kitchen, ensuring taste, presentation, and consistency
  • Oversee food preparation, portioning, and cooking to ensure efficient workflow
  • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and reduce food waste through effective inventory rotation
  • Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Passion for high-quality food and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience are bonus point

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Shift:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Experience:

  • Kitchen: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • ServSafe (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Portland, ME 04101 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Portland, ME 04101: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
