Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce material, component, and subcontractor costs, while minimizing lead times and inventory needs.
- Negotiate with vendors to lower product costs within budget and company KPIs.
- Monitor and maintain purchasing metrics for efficiency, quality, and budget adherence.
- Establish and meet key performance indicators for purchasing.
- Manage quote requests, make / buy decisions, and oversee purchase orders.
- Support program management with material cost submissions, quote validations, lead time verification, and order placements.
- Oversee subcontractor management, supplier performance reviews, and alternative sourcing.
- Close purchase orders and conduct supplier assessments.
- Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements.
- Supervise all procurement activities from purchase intent to delivery.
- Negotiate complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services.
- Ensure technical data compliance with subcontractors and resolve product issues.
- Develop supplier pricing, delivery, and payment processes, and improve relationships.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to achieve goals.
- Interact with customers to meet requirements and recommend operational improvements.
- Adhere to safety procedures and perform other assigned duties.

Mostly stationary work with occasional movement throughout the facility to access files, office machinery, etc. Works at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to manually enter data to the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear. Use of hands to hold, lift and handle materials. Seldom climbing, bending and squatting.
