The Aftermarket Repairs Manager is responsible for overseeing the repair and refurbishment of Canrig’s capital equipment, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with industry standards. This role manages repair workflows, vendor/customer relationships, and quality assurance to optimize equipment uptime and operational readiness.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of experience in equipment repair, ideally in oil & gas, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Proven experience in managing repair projects, vendor negotiations, quoting, and cost control.
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Strong knowledge of capital equipment repairs (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems).
- Proficiency in ERP systems, repair tracking software, and data analysis.
- Excellent leadership, vendor management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to develop accurate repair quotes and oversee pricing strategies.
Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Passport

Repair Operations & Execution
- Oversee all repair activities of Canrig capital equipment to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
- Manage the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of Top Drives, Wrenches, and Catwalks.
- Develop scopes of work aligned with OEM specifications and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement modifications or upgrades during repairs.
Vendor, Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Manage third-party repair vendor relationships, ensuring quality, cost, and turnaround targets are met.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and performance.
- Communicate with customers on repair status, timelines, and costs.
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to meet business objectives.
- Facilitate seamless communication among vendors, internal teams, and customers.
Quoting & Cost Management
- Create and present detailed repair quotes, including labor and parts.
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement on pricing strategies.
- Monitor repair budgets to ensure cost control and profitability.
- Oversee procurement of parts while managing inventory cost-effectively.
- Maintain repair history, failure trends, and cost analysis for informed decision-making.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all equipment meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards prior to return to service.
- Lead inspection and testing procedures to validate repair effectiveness.
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews in line with company policies and industry regulations.
Process Improvement & Performance Tracking
- Analyze repair and failure data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement workflow efficiencies to reduce turnaround time without sacrificing quality.
- Establish KPIs for repair effectiveness, vendor performance, and cost efficiency.
