Manager of Station Operations

DUTIES:

• Administer managerial oversight of ground operations at contracted stations. Source and contract ground operations oversight at all other stations operated by agent vendor employees as needed.
• Responsible for creating, building, and maintaining customer relationships on all levels.
• Provide positive image of NAC internally and externally through personal contact.
• Ensures that the highest levels of customer service are provided by NAC contractors and agents through training and compliance audits.
• Responsible for the administration, supervision and training of all customer service, warehouse, station, and sales personnel.
• Responsible for compliance training as required and station audits of the contract station agents.
• Ensures adherence to all Federal, State and United States Postal Services rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with management to develop stations’ budgets.
• Reduce freight claims, with contract staff through training, station audits and in partnership with NAC Claims Controller.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training, supervision and auditing of contract employee’s performance; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience:

• Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, subordinates or other employees, customers, and the public.

OTHER SKILLS:

• Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
• Must have a working knowledge of airfreight operations and services.
• Travel to Rural Alaska Outstations and Stations outside of Alaska is mandatory
• Travel may be as much as 50% of time.
