JOB SUMMARY
The Dirctor of Career and Technical Education (CTE) oversees and enhances districtwide CTE programs by providing strategic planning, budget management, personnel supervision, and professional development. This position ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, fosters partnerships to align programs with workforce trends, and supports dual enrollment opportunities. Additional responsibilities include workforce development in collaboration with regional economic organizations, managing dual enrollment for staff and students, rebranding and marketing the District's NOVA program and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advace career-aligned education. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director plays a pivotal role in shaping innovative educational opportunities across the district.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a representative for the District to ensure operational continuity for career and technical education, dual enrollment and workforce development.
- Directs departmental operations, manages personnel, allocates resources, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
- Supervises staff to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of solutions and services.
- Monitors operations and manages projects to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participates in professional meetings, workshops, and seminars to gather and share essential information.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries to provide information, facilitate communication, and offer guidance.
- Collaborates with administrators, instructional staff, and community members to ensure CTE pathways in collaboration with the cabinet leadership.
- Provides support for student organizations participating in regional, state and national events.
- Designs and delivers professional development for CTE educators and student leaders.
- Recruits businesses and organizations for work-based learning opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships.
- Maintains a database of businesses and industries participating in work-based learning initiatives.
- Coordinates Cooperative Education, Internships, Job Shadowing, and other district programs.
- Serves on CTE Advisory Boards to identify additional opportunities with community partners.
- Visits work sites to maintain community relationships and document student activities.
- Collaborates with the Superintendent, Board, Chief of Staff and administrators to develop and implement services and programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support district goals.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Masters Degree in Educational Administration or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a specialized CTE field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of school administration experience.
- Valid Arizona Department of Educational professional certificate in CTE or three-years of related experience.
- Valid Level One IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal Justice Background Check.
