REPORTS TO: Assistant Director
Position Objective:
Provides interactive and motivational work readiness and vocational workshops to Comprehensive Employment Services participants, including job preparation, sector-based overview and instruction, job search assistance, on-line applications and resume preparation; to develop and enhance clients’ work-related skills in preparation for job placement or other engagement activities.
Essential Functions:
- Provides job readiness workshops for program participants on such topics as: resume preparation and writing, introduction to business sectors, online job applications and follow up, job search tools, using email, interviewing skills, workplace ethics, soft skills and business conduct, networking and financial literacy. Workshops primarily take place in-person, but may also be presented through NADAP’s learning management system or Zoom, based on client needs.
- Assists clients with identifying a viable employment and addressing any barriers. Ensures each client can clearly articulate their skill set, answer basic interview questions, and complete job applications. Facilitator’s goal is an 80% completion rate for workshops.
- Conducts workshops utilizing prepared curricula and appropriate training materials, integrating vocational concepts and employment activities in a classroom setting.
- Plans and implements workshop activities to reflect participants’ needs, job readiness and skills level.
- Conducts interactive facilitation allowing for questions, comments and discussion from clients.
- Assists with creating and updating client resumes and cover letters as needed.
- Integrates relevant on-line computer sites and available tutorials to support and enhance classroom instruction.
- Assists in the development of job preparation curricula.
- Maintains contact with VCM to update participants’ progress.
- Maintains and executes documentation and workflow through computer-based programs and technology that draws on basic software/computer skill set.
- Assists with completing client intake meetings Intake meetings include an assessment, review of program services, collection of client demographics, identifying employment goals and barriers, and creating a client profile in NADAP's database.
- Attends and participates in meetings, staff development sessions and in-service training as assigned.
- May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities.
Requirements:
High School Diploma required with at least 1-year related work experience
Comfortable facilitating workshops, able to engage participants
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Experience working with virtual meeting platforms is required
Experience with entering and creating records in a database is required
Able to work schedule of four days in office. One day of remote work is available for administrative responsibilities
Compensation: $46,000 per year
