The Nasdaq Index Team has been creating market-leading Indexes for over 50 years. Our business started with Indexes tracking the world's most innovative companies listed on Nasdaq, including the Nasdaq Composite, Nasdaq-100, and Nasdaq Biotechnology Indexes. Today, we have global equity coverage and have expanded into other asset classes including fixed income, crypto, and options-based solutions. Our current offering spans tens of thousands of Indexes under our core Index Pillars: Nasdaq, Factor, Thematic, Income Generating and Alternative Asset Classes. Nasdaq indexes are used as the basis of over 370 ETPs comprising ~$360bn in assets under management around the world along with adoption across a myriad of investment product types including futures, options, mutual funds, institutional funds, separately managed accounts, annuities, UITs and OTC derivatives. Now, our team is providing a full-time entry level program providing a rotational work experience focused on exposing candidates with a well-rounded knowledge base of the overall index business. The rotation will run for a two-year period and upon successful completion of the program, you will transition into an Analyst role within an area that is the best fit for each candidates’ skill set and professional interests. During the trainee program, you will: • Be immersed in three assignments in Nasdaq’s key Index functions through rotations across our operational team (comprising Index Portfolio Management along with Data, Models and Platform Development), Index Research & Development, and Client Services. • Meet regularly with the head of the rotation program, respective rotation managers and others to receive personalized coaching and mentorship. • Complete thorough training and development experiences for the holistic index business and wider Nasdaq. Index Team Functions Included in Rotational Assignments: Index Portfolio Management (IPM) Team is responsible for all aspects of the live Index. The team manages the Index Reconstitution & Rebalance process through periodic review of adding, removing, and adjusting the weights of Index Securities, Index Maintenance through the monitoring of Corporate Actions & Events, and Index Operations through the monitoring of the Index Calculation & Dissemination. Responsibilities in a rotation may include: · Support the ongoing processing and review of corporate actions and events · Participate in the Reconstitution & Rebalance of Indexes · Performing data validations of Index values Data, Model, Portfolios (DPM) Team is responsible for managing the Index data utilized by the Research & Development and Index Portfolio Management teams, the models and portfolios utilized during the Reconstitution & Rebalance process, the launching of new Indexes, and owners of the Index Methodology (Rule Book). Responsibilities in a rotation may include: · Work with the team to manage the database utilized by the Index team · Work with Research & Development Team to launch Indexes that will be handed off to the Index Portfolio Management Team · Work with respective teams in creating and revising Index Methodologies Research & Development (R&D) Team is responsible for the creation of new Index ideas and pitch decks, coordination with clients on Index launches, as well as conducting Index Research on existing Indexes and associated products, and quantitative strategies for identifying new areas of Index products. Responsibilities in a rotation may include: · Work with team members to launch new Indexes · Generate research materials · Support respective Index teams with ongoing Index developments · Generate new index ideas that can be brought to market as investment products Client Services (CS) Team provides efficient and high-quality client services to financial institutions. The team provides pre-and post-sales service to clients and are responsible for continued development and improvement of the overall client experience, with the objective of shortening response time and increasing service quality. Responsibilities in a rotation may include: · Support clients and act as a liaison by responding to questions, ensuring client expectations are met · Work with business owners to ensure they are being supported in responses to clients · Work in the client communication tool, Salesforce What We Expect: • Passion for Financial Markets. • An undergraduate degree. All majors are considered, majors in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Statistics preferred. The ideal candidate is a graduating college senior on or before Spring 2023 or early career professional. • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a high-performing team. • Adaptability, the ability to learn quickly, and take initiative.
