The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Reliability Specialist to join our Accreditation Team in the Early Learning Program. As a professional membership organization, NAEYC works to ensure high-quality early learning for every child, from birth through age 8, and supports educators, families, and early childhood professionals. The Reliability Specialist will play a key role in maintaining the quality and consistency of NAEYC's accreditation processes through assessment visits, data analysis, and training efforts.
NAEYC is a professional membership organization with 90 employees across the US, that works to promote high-quality early learning for each and every child, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly reliability reviews for assessor teams, ensuring consistency and adherence to protocols using approved tools. This includes reviewing onsite observation data and program application evidence.
- Collect and analyze assessment data to identify trends in reliability, providing insights to inform management decisions.
- Coordinate assessor scheduling, travel planning, and site visit logistics.
- Make assessor assignments based on visit schedules, locations, and workload, ensuring completion timelines are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assessors, addressing questions and concerns regarding the application review process.
- Conduct accreditation visits and program documentation reviews as needed.
- Serve as a co-assessor when required.
- Collaborate with the Reliability Specialist (Observation) to analyze assessment data and identify trends that inform improvements.
- Support the training and professional development of assessors and provide mentorship to new team members.
- Provide supplemental support in the absence of the Reliability Specialist (Observation).
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of Accreditation, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree, with specialized coursework in child development, early childhood education, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in an educational setting for children from birth through age 8, including familiarity with the NAEYC Accreditation process.
- Proficiency in MS365 and experience with data entry on various platforms.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions, manage time efficiently, and demonstrate a keen attention to detail.
- Professionalism, flexibility, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Results-driven, with a passion for supporting NAEYC's mission and advancing early childhood education.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Strong understanding of the NAEYC Accreditation process and how it relates to program evaluation and quality assessment.
- Commitment to continuous learning in early childhood education and participation in relevant professional development opportunities.
Salary Range: Competitive, based on experience and geographic location (remote work options available outside of the DC area).
Position Designation:
This role is eligible for telework. Telework and remote work eligibility is subject to NAEYC's Telework and Remote Work Policy. Hybrid policy requires one day per week onsite in Washington, DC office. This role requires travel in support of company events.
Business Continuity:
The nature of this role assigns this position to the Business Continuity team; therefore, this role is critical to business operations and may be called upon to be present in the event of an emergency or crisis.
