The College of Education (https://apptrkr.com/get_redirect.php?id=5607936&targetURL=https://coe.uccs.edu/) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester.
Lecturers will teach Student Affairs in Higher Education classes. For example, Student Affairs Leadership, Leading Teams and Organizations, Social Foundations of Higher Education, College Student Development Theory, Counseling and Helping Skills in Higher Education, Legal and Ethical Issues in Higher Education, Budgeting and Finance in Student Affairs, Student Services Program Development and Evaluation, Research and Statistics, Diversity and Inclusiveness in Higher Education, Culturally Responsive Practices in Higher Education, Crisis Management and Response, and the Student Affairs Practicum/Internship. Generally, graduate classes meet in-person on-campus and undergraduate classes meet asynchronously online.

Work Location: Determined by course modality (i.e., on-site if teaching an in-person course; remote if teaching an online course; or a combination of the two if teaching a hybrid course).
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What We Offer
Salary Range: Generally starting at $3,000 per 3-credit hour course.

Timeline
- This pool will be open from May 2024 through July 31, 2024 in preparation for the Fall 2024 semester .
- This pool will be open from November 2024 through March 31, 2025 in preparation for the Spring and Summer 2025 semesters .

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field
- At least three years of professional experience in the specific course content area
- Available to teach in-person classes on campus or online asynchronous classes
- A terminal degree (e.g., PhD, JD)
- Prior and relevant teaching experience
- Current engagement in professional development activities in the specific course content area
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move
- Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
