The program coordinator at International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) coordinates programs to support the academic, cultural, and social adjustment of students and scholars.
Responsibilities
- Programming - Work as an active and collaborative member of the intercultural programs and initiatives team within ISSS to coordinate cultural and social programming for international students and scholars, including service learning, leadership, and co-curricular activities. Coordinate program logistics and operations and work within budget guidelines to ensure successful execution. Provide insights on implementing the orientation strategy and assist with executing international student orientation. Assess programs and events using unit protocols and guidelines.
- Communication and Outreach - Coordinate intercultural program marketing materials for the web and print in accordance with Texas Global branding. Actively engage on ISSS social media platforms to promote programs and events. Collaborate across campus departments and units to develop and implement intercultural programs for international students and scholars. Build and cultivate relationships with community partners and student organizations to support program development.
- Support of ISSS and Texas Global Functions - Actively support the critical priorities and functions of ISSS and Texas Global. Regularly attend and actively contribute to ISSS programs and events for the international community. Attend staff meetings and serve on internal work groups to support the organization's mission.
Bachelor's degree and three years of related event programming experience. Strong skills in intercultural communication, professional communication, and public speaking. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and maintain a high level of organization. Excellent professional demeanor. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member. Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask in a fast-paced team environment. Commitment to high-quality and efficient customer service to faculty, staff, and external partners. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant experience in program coordination and administration in a university context. Direct experience working with international students and scholars within a university context.
Salary Range
$50,000

Work in a shared office environment. Work around standard office conditions. This position is located in Austin, Texas.
