Clide Operator, Days/7a-7p

Responsible to direct Speedo Near Line to provide a product which meets customer quality and time requirements while meeting company profitability requirements. Contact person for the production related issues on the equipment in Direct Mail. Train employees on Speedo Near Line equipment in best practices to ensure equipment is operating effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership in working with operators, helpers, and temps.
• Perform all duties and follow all established processes of a Folder Operator, ink jet and Helper duties, including setting up stations and bagging requirements.
• Provide Work direction and assistance to assistant operators with difficult troubleshooting on the folders and all in or near line equipment to correct the problem and educate the operators.
• Develop new ways to improve productivity and operational efficiency of Direct Mail equipment.
• Read and understand job ticket, follow the sign-off/continuity procedures.
• Inspect cost center processes to determine that they are done properly, and quality standards are followed.
• Communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions.
• Complete all paperwork and use timekeeping system efficiently.
• Inform Shift Leader and show ability to order supplies or parts as needed.
• Work safely and make sure each member of the crew has a safe working environment.
• Report any quality issues to the shift leaders immediately.
• Operate equipment at or above the planned run speeds set by Nahan Printing, Inc.
• Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles; 6S, Set-up Reduction and TPM. Ensuring preventive maintenance processes are followed. Anticipate and troubleshoot problems. Perform TPM’s daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance to ensure the equipment is running at optimum performance.
• Understand and complete MDI sheets for your equipment.
• Complete other tasks as requested by Leader/Shift Leader; including working in other areas as needed while being cooperative, positive, and respectful with leaders, coworkers, and team.
• Ensure all safety policies are followed and hold a high regard for the safety of others. Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
• Aggressively seek out and support opportunities for company and self-improvement.
• Work assigned crew scheduling including weekends and overtime.
