What are the responsibilities and job description for the Membership Sales Manager position at NAIFA?
Position Summary
The Membership Sales Manager is responsible for cultivating leads for individual and group membership programs, developing and executing sales systems to advance potential members through the decision-making process, and clearly articulating NAIFA’s value proposition to close the sale. Additionally, the Membership Sales Manager works closely with Chapters and their volunteer leaders, in cooperation with the Senior Director of Membership, to support their efforts to grow our collective membership base.
Essential Functions
- Member and Group Membership Lead Development: Works with national and chapter leaders, as well as the general membership, to identify and cultivate individual and group membership leads using inbound and outbound marketing principles and strategies with a focus on engaging the full spectrum of financial services professionals.
- Development, Deployment, and Management of Sales Funnels/Systems: Helps develop, deploy, and maintain sales funnels, communications, and deal management system through HubSpot to attract, engage, and impress prospects, converting them into members.
- Direct & Indirect Sales: Actively identifies, engages, and cultivates potential members through relationship building, benefit discussions, and persuasive communication, ultimately converting leads into members by negotiating deals and closing sales, thereby driving revenue and achieving sales targets.
- Chapter Membership Sales Support: Engages, educates and supports chapter leaders and their efforts to grow their membership in cooperation with national membership sales programs.
Program Manager
For assigned programs and projects, work closely with the program/project director to develop program/project plans; prioritize and delegate work tasks to ensure proper functioning of the program/project team; assist with the development and management of program/project budgets; and ensure the successful implementation of program/project plans and budgets to support department goals.

- Self-Directed & Detail Oriented—position offers the possibility of full-time remote work, or a combination of telework and office work. Some travel to events will be required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong customer service and relationship skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Writing, editing and proofreading skills
Work Environment
Performs work in our offices in Rosslyn, Virginia; Cedar Falls, Iowa; or remotely in a home-office setting.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
