RESTAURANT FACILITIES MANAGER NAKED FARMER

ABOUT THE ROLE :
Naked Farmer is looking for a Facilities Manager to join our growing Support Team. We're a small, scrappy early-stage restaurant group so this person will be a self-starter who loves to learn, takes pride in high quality workmanship and can work well independently as well as part of a team.
Our Facilities Manager will have a couple of years of restaurant repair and maintenance experience and is comfortable with any task from troubleshooting and repairing kitchen & refrigeration equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and any all-around general handyman duties as required (painting, patching drywall, sourcing and installing hardware, locks etc), to the design, implementation and execution of a preventative maintenance program to reduce R&M costs across our restaurant group. This person will also be an active part of our rapid expansion assisting in the completion of our new restaurants, punch lists and final touches to prepare the restaurant for open. As we operate in hurricane-prone markets, the Facilities Manager will be the point person in storm readiness, assisting in preparation, efficient closure and re-openings in partnership with our operations leadership and restaurant teams.
We are looking for someone who is as passionate about getting the job done despite any challenge, has an extreme eye for detail, is a great communicator, 'wrote the the book' on efficient time management and can help us determine the most cost-effective means of repair and preventative maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Preventative Maintenance
- Develop, own and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and facilities and reduce downtime, R&M costs, and operational friction.
- Ensure routine inspections of kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems for operational and health department integrity.
- Create an equipment inventory, tracking repair costs and planning phased retirements or replacements for aging units.
- Perform scheduled restaurant audits, recommending & scheduling necessary repairs and coaching the Management Team to minimize repair costs and enhance safety.
2. Repairs & Troubleshooting
Address emergency and routine repair requests for equipment and facilities, including kitchen, common areas, storefront and patio areas.Serve as a dependable and diligent liaison between internal partners, landlords, contractors, and vendors when needed to repair facilities.Troubleshoot minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.Ensure that repairs are conducted in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.3. Restaurant Cleanliness
Regularly pressure wash outdoor areas such as patios, walkways, and parking lots.Ensure that kitchen exhaust vents, grease traps, and dumpsters are cleaned and pressure washed to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.Schedule and oversee the cleaning of exterior walls and windows, floors and interiors to maintain the restaurant's immaculate appearance.Schedule and supervise high dusting activities, including air vents, ceiling fans, and light fixtures, to maintain a clean and safe environment.Ensure that all equipment, ducts, and other hard-to-reach areas are dust-free and repainted regularly.Manage deep cleaning projects with restaurant teams to ensure sanitation and compliance with food safety regulations.5. Equipment & Facility Monitoring
Track and monitor the condition of equipment and facility components, ensuring they meet operational standards.Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for internal audits and regulatory compliance.Perform regular assessments to identify potential areas for proactive improvement or upgrades in facility infrastructure.6. Equipment Warranty Tracking
Maintain an organized system for tracking warranties on kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and other major appliances.Ensure that any equipment under warranty is properly maintained and serviced according to the manufacturer's instructions to avoid voiding the warranty.Coordinate with vendors to handle warranty claims for defective or damaged equipment.Keep a log of expiration dates and renewal periods for service contracts and warranties.7. Compliance & Safety Standards
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and fire codes.Coordinate with health inspectors to ensure the facility is compliant with sanitation and safety regulations.Maintain a safe environment for all employees and guests by addressing potential hazards promptly.8. Cost Management & Budgeting
Monitor and manage the facility maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.Seek out and evaluate bids for services, repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts.Track expenses related to equipment repairs and maintenance, ensuring they stay within budget.9. Hurricane Preparedness and Support
Actively lead effort for Hurricane Preparedness Planning, preparation, closing and reopening of affected restaurants. Be the last one on site to close, and the first one on site to re-open restaurants when possible. Monitor weather, local ordinances and be in active communication with company leadership, Landlords and restaurant teams.10. NRO Support
Perform new store turnover, 90 day and one year walks / punches with Contractor and Operations Leaders for all new restaurantsAssist in on-site support with initial equipment start up and testingPartner with contractor, vendors and Landlord on getting restaurant service-ready for opening day, doing whatever it takes to get the restaurant completed and immaculate.ABOUT YOU :
