Reports to: Senior Manager of Recovery Services
Office Location: 224 West Hill Street Suite 410, Chicago, IL ; required in-office minimum of 3 days per week (hybrid work policy subject to change).

Who We Are Looking For:
The Engagement and Support Supervisor supports NAMI Chicago’s mission by directly supervising Recovery Support Associates. We seek a dynamic and compassionate leader who embodies the principles of peer recovery, advocacy, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, solution-focused professional with a proven ability to manage peer support programs and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support and provide oversight, guidance, and immediate direction to a team of peers working in Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRFs).
- Establishes a frequent and consistent physical presence inside of SMHRF/SNF to support Class Members?
- Conducts weekly site visits to partner SMHRFs to assess program effectiveness and offer hands-on
- Provides one-on-one engagement and recovery support pre- and post-transition, including coaching and mentorship, for navigating the CCMTP journey.
- Provides advocacy and follow-up with service providers on behalf of Class Members
- Implements NAMI Chicago support programming within SMHRF/SNF?
- Maintains official records and reports to program staff as needed and scheduled?
- Participate in monthly partner meetings and provide updates on team activities to ensure alignment with grant deliverables and organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate program documentation and compliance records by grant and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and track team expenditures to ensure financial sustainability and adherence to the program budget guidelines and oversight.
- Maintain strategic relationships with partner agencies, community stakeholders, and advocacy organizations.
- Conduct peer support groups and training sessions for NAMI Chicago in designated facilities and for community partners, fostering a supportive recovery network.
- Provide training and education for new staff and ongoing professional development in peer recovery services.
- Assess needs for retraining and referral to training, where appropriate and necessary
- Represent the organization in outreach and community engagement efforts to promote recovery support services across Chicagoland.
- Contribute to the organization’s leadership in peer-led recovery and mental health advocacy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission of NAMI Chicago.
Requirements
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of peer recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and mental health best practices.
- Proven ability to supervise and support remote teams, fostering engagement and accountability.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across diverse communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving underrepresented and vulnerable populations, including individuals with lived mental health experiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and program deliverables.
- Familiarity with local mental health resources, services, and peer support networks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and basic data management systems.
- Ability to travel throughout the greater Chicago area
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field preferred
OR a minimum bachelor's degree in the social service field.
- A Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work, mental health services, or peer support team management.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in a behavioral health or community-based setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Welcomed Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience with Community Care Management and Treatment Planning (CCMTP).
- Ability to understand and apply grant management principles, including compliance requirements for grants administered

Annual Salary Range: $57,000 - $60,000/year
