Position Summary
We are seeking a Marketing Communications Coordinator to coordinate, execute, monitor, and measure the organization’s marketing and communications efforts. This position requires excellent writing skills and experience in social media and graphic design. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is energetic, organized, creative, and self-motivated. This role requires a candidate with a solid understanding of digital marketing trends and strategies, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Develop marketing campaigns for programs, fundraising, and events
- Coordinate and execute email campaigns, meeting deadlines, and ensuring uniformity of content/messaging
- Write and edit content for key organization publications including emails, newsletter, annual report, brochures, fact sheets, promotional flyers, and other communications as assigned
- Develop public relations strategies for events and announcements as needed.
- Design and edit graphics for print or web as needed
- Conduct client interviews to be used for newsletters, direct mail, website, press conferences, etc.
- Maintain photo library by taking photos, seeking pro bono photography, or contracting with paid photographers, to capture our work and the work of our sites
- Coordinate and develop video content for use on fundraising campaigns, website, and social media
Website Management
- Primary administrator and content creator of website
- Work with staff and web vendors to continuously improve usability, design and content of website
- Monitor and report regularly on website analytics and take appropriate actions when necessary
- Manage and renew association website domain names
Social Media Management
- Coordinate and execute social media campaigns and ensure alignment with NAMI Eastside mission
- Manage social media editorial calendar and create and post valuable, shareable content regularly, ensuring NAMI Eastside mission is centered in its online presence.
- Write client and staff spotlight stories and solicit updates from all program sites.
- Monitor and report on social media outreach, including weekly and monthly reporting.
General Development & Office
- Assist with the organization and implementation of Development department events.
- Work with committees and staff team to achieve the fundraising goals.
- Help establish and maintain internal communications to keep staff informed of the work of the organization.
- Regularly update and manage donor and contact information in the organization's databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency to support targeted communication and donor stewardship efforts.
- Communicate NAMI Eastside efforts/initiatives to donors/prospects at various community events.
- Supervise volunteers as necessary.
Qualifications
- Background in communications or marketing preferred (bachelor's degree and/or experience)
- Motivated to advance the cause of mental health awareness, mental well-being, and ending the stigma associated with mental health
- Highly driven and results-oriented
- Excellent writing skills with an emphasis on writing for web and social media
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines on time and strong attention to detail
- Graphic design skills
- Experience with Canva, WordPress
- Knowledge or experience with email and customer relationship management systems (e.g. Mailchimp, Little Green Light)
Desired Qualifications
- Photography and videography, and related editing experience a strong plus
- Strong cultural awareness for working with linguistically diverse communities.
Work Environment
- This position will have access to an office, remote working schedule to be determined in collaboration with supervisor; A minimum of two days in office per week is expected; Evenings and weekends may be required based on needs of the organization
- Travel by vehicle for work events, communications projects, and/or staff retreats.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 20bs occasionally
