What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Facilitator- Drop in Center position at NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)?
The Program Facilitator is a nonexempt, part time, 16 hour/week employee working Thursday and Friday.
Position Purpose: Assist Drop-in Center participants along their recovery journey by increasing socialization, developing life skills, connecting to employment, and enhancing overall wellness. Time is spent floor managing, running groups, and strengthening engagement and retention of participants. Ensure paperwork is up to date, processing new intake paperwork, and creating weekly sign in sheets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. The duties of this position are mainly Direct Service.
Direct Service:
- Work to maintain and encourage a comfortable and safe environment for participants’ to: develop life skills, increase socialization, progress on their recovery journey.
- Lead daily groups for participants.
- Facilitate field trips at the Center using a variety of formats and strategies that encourage socialization.
- Complete daily case notes and group attendance, ensure participants signing in and out.
- Collaborate with other departments to train new staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Strengthen engagement and retention of participants
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist or qualify to obtain Certification within 1 year of hire is preferred.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults in a mental health setting is required.
