Position Summary:
The PAUSE (Peers Advocating for Uniting Success Everyday) Program Coordinator is an essential position promoting youth mental health wellness by organizing the yearly PAUSE school meeting schedule, overseeing reports and surveys uploaded from students, ensure facilitators are uploading meeting reports and participate in facilitating in-school student groups through the PAUSE Program. The PAUSE Program Coordinator is committed to the program’s success and assists the Program Director in meeting the desired program goals. This position attends outreach activities associated with the program and other NAMIYA related efforts and programs.
Position Duties:
· Certification as a Peer Certified Specialist
· Certification as a Mandated Reporter
· Certification as a Youth Mental Health First Aid professional
· Certification as a Trauma Informed Care professional
· Certification as QPR trained
· Attend PAUSE training to enter schools and work with the PAUSE program.
· Coordinate and oversee youth group schedules and PAUSE facilitators’ schedules to ensure weekly coverage occurs across the program and work with facilitators to find replacements.
· Co-facilitate weekly youth groups at various schools during the school day/school year.
· Manage all electronically recorded data, including but not limited to dates of meetings, number of students, student surveys, incident reports, and school meetings. Assist with compiling data and provide reports as needed to the Program Director and Executive Director for reporting purposes.
· Attend and assist with monthly PAUSE Program Facilitator staff meetings.
· Assist with agency outreach efforts in the community – including but not limited to back-to-school night, school fairs, and other school and youth functions associated with the PAUSE Program and youth mental health.
· Attend appropriate NAMI state and national program conferences, meetings, and other trainings as required.
· Provide a monthly report to the Program Director for inclusion into the Program Committee report.
· Attend monthly Peer Advisory Committee meetings as required.
· Complete and pass all necessary clearances to work in schools.
· Assist with NAMIYA outreach efforts in the community – back to school nights, school fairs, and other community events associated with the NAMIYA mission and goals.
· Assist with the NAMIYA fundraising efforts— including but not limited to PAUSE grants, NAMIYA annual Walk, and Give Local York.
· Meet weekly with the Program Director to provide updates on the status of programs.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· An associate’s degree (minimum) in Human Services, Volunteer Management, Non-Profit Management, or related. Previous mental health fieldwork experience is preferred.
· Current Peer Certified Specialist certification a plus.
· Experience and knowledge, personal and/or professional, about working with individuals and families affected by mental illness. Personal lived experience with mental health a plus.
· Successfully complete and pass all necessary background checks including but not limited to child abuse, state police criminal, TB, and fingerprinting to work in various schools.
· Comfortable sharing personal stories of mental health as a peer in various settings and groups.
· Experience managing staff schedules.
· Must have a current driver’s license, car insurance, care registration.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make efficient decisions.
· Familiarity with NAMI and its programs.
· Proficient with technology to use web-based software platforms (training provided).
· Fluency with MS Office (PPT, Word, Excel) and Google Suite.
· Ability/willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
· Outstanding written and oral communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences.
· At all times, any PAUSE Program employee must uphold the standards of confidentiality regarding participant information required by NAMI-YA policies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
