Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist Intern to join our Summer Internship Program. This is a temporary full-time position that offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the defense industry with a specialization in energetics safety.
The safety specialist intern will have the chance to gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of health, safety, and environmental practices within a dynamic and innovative defense manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for students who are eager to learn and apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
As a Safety Specialist Intern, you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional performance in health, safety, and environmental practices. Your responsibilities will be varied and diverse, including but not limited to:
• Performing risk and hazard assessments
• Evaluating and implementing hazardous communication systems
• Conducting safety inspections and audits
• Developing projects to improve safety and health performance
• Designing safety training courses
• Conducting exposure assessments and audits
Job Qualifications: (Education/Skills/Experience):
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in one of the following fields
Industrial Health and Safety
Industrial Hygiene
Public Health
Occupational Safety and Health
Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Safety Science
•Individuals with two years of experience or less
