SUPERVISOR : Relocation Services Manager
STATUS : Non-Exempt
SUMMARY The Outreach Specialist will be responsible for coordinating communication and engagement efforts between the Housing Authority and individuals or families impacted by relocation activities. This role involves providing vital information, offering support, and ensuring that tenants understand their rights and responsibilities during the relocation process. The Outreach Specialist will work directly with tenants, landlords, and community partners to ensure a smooth transition and assist with addressing any concerns or barriers that may arise.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED : Operates under the direct general supervision of the Relocation Department; the Outreach Specialist exercises no supervision over other employees.

- Tenant Outreach : Conduct proactive outreach to tenants affected by relocation, ensuring they receive timely and accurate information regarding relocation policies, timelines, and available resources.
- Community Engagement : Establish and maintain relationships with tenants, community organizations, and local service providers to support relocation efforts and facilitate tenant needs.
- Communication : Provide clear and consistent communication with tenants, landlords, and relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth relocation process.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions, concerns, and status of relocation cases. Prepare regular reports for management and assist with data entry related to outreach activities.
- Education and Support : Educate tenants on their relocation rights, available financial assistance, and housing options. Assist with the completion of relocation paperwork and applications.
- Conflict Resolution : Address tenant concerns or complaints related to relocation, and work with the Relocation Manager to find appropriate solutions to any challenges.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, such as Property Management, Legal, and Social Services, to ensure that all relocation efforts are in compliance with regulations and that tenant needs are met.
- Referral Services : Connect tenants with additional support services, including financial counseling, housing search assistance, and legal aid, as necessary.
- Cultural Competency : Ensure that outreach efforts are culturally sensitive and tailored to the needs of diverse populations, including those with limited English proficiency or disabilities.
- Follow-Up : Track the progress of each relocation case and provide follow-up support to ensure successful transitions.
