Job Description
This position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, or serving duties in a commercial hotel food service area.
Responsibilities
- Washes food service area objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
- Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
- Cleans, sweep, mop and wipe down all general food service areas and equipment.
- Removes garbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, etc.
- May assist cooks or others as needed and coordinates one’s own activities with other food service activities and requirements.
- Properly, safely and efficiently prepare food products while following standard food-handling procedures.
- Assists with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
- May maintain a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
- May stock storage areas with various products.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Some prior experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for and interest in this type of work, preferred.
