Overview
Akima Facilities Operations is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment. They will work closely with the EHS Manager at the Project Management Office to support our commitment to environmental stewardship, employee health, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with project managers, supervisors, and employees, to implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
- Provides guidance and training to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Investigates accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Stays current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to environmental protection, occupational health, and safety.
- Assists in emergency response planning and participate in drills and exercises as needed.
- Serves as a point of contact for EHS inquiries, concerns, and suggestions from employees and management.
