RiverTech is seeking a skilled Physical Security (PHYSEC) Specialist to support the Joint Staff Security Office North (JSSO-N) at the Pentagon. The PHYSEC Specialist assists in the physical protection of SCI and collateral classified information and resources under the control of the JS in accordance with DoD Manual 5105.21, DoD Manual 5200.01, IC Tech Specs for ICD / ICS 705, and other government policies as they apply to the protection of classified information and secure facilities. Supports the JS PHYSEC Program management activities and develop recommendations for Government approval in accordance with the specifications above to update JS PHYSEC policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Develops and implements physical security collateral and SCI training for employees and on-site contractors.
Investigates security related accidents / incidents, interviews witnesses, complaints, and victims; responsible for gathering physical evidence and preserving it for future use; complete report and follow up with management as needed
Coordinates inspection visits with the Joint Staff Directorates and conducts physical inspections of Joint Staff spaces and conducts compliance reviews in accordance with DoD Manuals and ICD 705.
Drafting inspection reports that include a summary of activities, findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
Assisting with the management of secure spaces and SCIFs, conducting inspections, preparing inspection reports, and accreditation documents as appropriate for the level of the facility being accredited.
Performs periodic reviews of access rosters and will add and remove access to enrolled cardholders as required.
Processes requests to approve and allow medical, or other portable electronic devices in secure spaces IAW DoD, IC, and JS policies.
Provides technical and physical support for high security areas, security equipment, and security systems.
Maintains liaison with outside agencies.
Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
Assists with emergency management including investigating and reporting maintenance and safety conditions which might endanger Joint Staff customers, its associates or public safety, including fires, evacuations, shelter- in-place, hazardous situations, or other facility related events; provide back up to client personnel as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Physical Security (PHYSEC) discipline.
Must possess a working knowledge of the U.S. Government Security Programs and skills in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements for which they support.
Must be able to review, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
Must hold current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
ODNI Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Course or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Physical Demands :
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Able to set up and climb on ladders up to ten feet in height.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk and move around the office complex.
