Mechanical Quality Control Inspector

Job Description
    We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to test and inspect products at various stages of the production process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of products by performing various duties.

Responsibilities:
    

• Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into a computer for analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
    

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Quality Control Inspector experience will be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years directly related Quality Control Inspector experience with knowledge of construction and oil & gas industry.
• Current AWS CWI - Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Current NACE CIP 1 Coating Inspector certification.
• Driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places, and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and climb or balance. Steel-toed boots are required on the job.
