OverviewPrimary responsibilities of the Medium Driver are the safe vehicle operation and passenger pick up and drop off on the North-South Shuttle #2. Driver will be prepared to conduct other TMP activities during Code Red and regular workdays for Akima Facilities Operations when the government is in not operating, including but not limited to snow operations, airport runs, post runs, etc. Normal working hours will be 0600 to 1475 with a 45-minute lunch. Hours are subject to change at manager's discretion or at customer's request. This position is benefit eligible.Responsibilities Safe passenger pick up and drop off at assigned stops at designated times on using a prescribed route on West Point. Standard pre-check and post-check TMP vehicle. Fueling and cleaning / sweeping of assigned vehicle. Checking for personal property left in vehicle. Servicing of assigned vehicle (Standard Pre and Post Check) including : Sweeping vehicle's floor. Mopping vehicle floor with clean water. Wiping down console. Cleaning windows. Driving vehicle through Government Car Wash. Fueling vehicle. Removal of debris from vehicle floor, cup holders and compartments. Check of : Fluid levels (oil, transmission, Brakes, Power Steering, Coolant, Washer Fluid). Leaks. Drive Belts. Battery Condition. Mirrors. Suspension. All Lights. Windshield Wipers. Horn. Parking Brake (for Buses includes 50-foot Brake Test and Air Brake Test as per CDL Requirements). Tires. Steering Play. Fire Extinguisher (Charged) (for Buses and Tactical Vehicles). Check all emergency equipment and exits to ensure safe and serviceable.Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Valid New York State Driver's License, CDL B w / P Endorsement. Current DOT Medical Examiner Card.
