DETAILS:
Location: Seattle, WA (Capitol Hill neighborhood)
Ideal Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 2:30pm - 6:30pm. One day each work week, schedule will be 2:30pm to 10:00pm (flexible). Opportunity for additional weekend hours as well if desired.
Children:8 year old and 4 year old
Compensation: $28-$32/hr DOE plus 20 guaranteed hours/week (potential for more in the summer), paid time off, accrued paid sick time, paid federal holidays and mileage reimbursement. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld.
Ideally, family is looking for a long term nanny that will grow with the children and family

The Family:
This warm and loving LGBTQ family is looking for a patient, kind and nurturing nanny to help with their two children beginning as soon as possible. Ideal candidate has at least five years experience caring for energetic, school aged children in a similar age range and would prefer a nanny with some experience working with neurodivergent children (not required). Family needs provider to pick older child up from school and younger child up from montessori in the afternoon and provide childcare until the evening. Eight year old enjoys playing with Legos, Pokemon, bouldering, reading and exploring nature. Four year old loves playing make believe (especially with unicorns), reading and riding her scooter. When caring for the children, family is looking for a nanny that emphasizes both play and learning/experiences. Family is looking for an amazing connection with their nanny and wants nanny to feel part of their family. Family has a friendly dog.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their children during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of both children at all times
- Encourage communication and language skills through reading, storytelling, and conversations
- Transport the children safely from school and to activities and be comfortable driving in downtown Seattle
- Organize and supervise playdates with peers to promote social skills and interactions
- Prepare and provide meals/snacks for the children, accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games
- Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, organizing toys, school lunch prep, etc.
- Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny has a minimum of five years of experience caring for school age children and is reliable, nurturing, and engaging. Family would also prefer (not required) that nanny have some experience with caring for neurodivergent children. Candidate should be interested in a long term position with the family. A background or interest in child development would be a bonus, but not required. Nanny should be easy going, adventurous, and LGBTQ friendly. The nanny should be up to date on all vaccinations, including annual influenza and Covid (including boosters). They should be current with their Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). At least three childcare related references required. The nanny should have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for use on the job. Family will provide carseats.
