Location: Poulsbo, WA
Ideal Start Date: April 1, 2025 (flexible)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm (family is very flexible)
Children: 5 month old baby
Compensation: $20-$30/hr with 40 guaranteed hours/week, two weeks paid time off, accrued paid sick time, and mileage reimbursement. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld.
Initial commitment of one-year is ideal but family is potentially looking for long term.

The Family:
Laid back, fun military family is seeking a caring and compassionate nanny to join their family, which includes mom, dad, their five month old son, two cats and two gentle dogs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering their baby’s growth and helping the baby meet age appropriate milestones through play and a variety of experiences. This family is looking for someone who is interested in growing with the family and is experienced, communicative, and excited to help their baby learn/grow socially and intellectually. Child has no known allergies or special needs. One parent has a mild tree nut allergy. Mom travels for work at times so there is an additional option (not required) to travel with the mom and provide childcare during these work trips. Work schedule is flexible and family is happy to work with nanny to find ideal schedule.
Family is participating in the Military Child Care in Your Home (CCYH) program that helps military families with the cost of full-time child care in their own homes and would like nanny to participate as well. Nanny will need to complete an orientation (10 hours) and an additional training (20 hours) within 90 days of starting the position. Nanny will also need to complete annual training (15 hours/annually). To acknowledge this time commitment, family is offering a $500 one time payment to the nanny when the additional training is completed and an additional annual payment of $500 if the nanny continues to stay involved in the program. Nanny is welcome to complete these trainings during work hours.
The Job Description:
The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their child during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:
- Bottle prep, bottle feeding, and clean up
- Diapering and restocking supplies
- Facilitating naps
- Monitor and track development milestones, such as rolling over, grasping objects, etc.
- Planning and facilitating age-appropriate developmental activities both indoors and outdoors, as well as outings to nearby parks and other “experience” activities.
- Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, emptying diaper pail when needed, etc.
- Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end
- Ensuring the dogs are let outside as needed. No feeding or walking required.
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny has a minimum of two years of newborn/baby childcare experience and is reliable, kind hearted, and engaging. A background or interest in child development is also preferred but not required. The nanny should be up to date on all vaccinations, including TDAP, MMR, annual influenza and Covid. They should be current with their Infant CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle is preferred but not required. At least three childcare related references required.
