DETAILS:

Location: Seattle, WA (Queen Anne neighborhood)

Ideal Start Date: February 25, 2025 (flexible)

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00am/8:00am to 12:00pm/1:00pm. Family and nanny will set schedule.

Children: 1 year old

Compensation: $32-$35/hr DOE plus 20 guaranteed hours/week, paid time off, accrued paid sick time, paid federal holidays and mileage reimbursement. Prefer legal pay with taxes withheld.

Family expects this position to last six months to one year but may need a longer commitment due to second child being born later this year.

The Family:

This active, fun, and multi-cultural family is looking for an energetic and nurturing nanny to care for their one year old daughter beginning at the end of February 2025. Ideal candidate has at least three years experience caring for toddlers at a similar age. Both parents work from home and are looking for a nanny that can emphasize play and learning/experiences with their daughter. Child is very curious, loves to be outside and visit parks (one is walkable from family’s home). One of her favorite activities is swinging on the swing set. Family is looking for an amazing connection with their nanny and wants nanny to feel part of their family. Family is currently residing overseas but will return to the United States at the end of February when they need childcare to begin.

The Job Description:

The nanny will be responsible for ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for their child during the day. In addition to general child care, job duties will include:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times
• Diapering and restocking supplies
• Facilitating naps
• Monitor and track development milestones
• Encourage communication and language skills through reading, storytelling, and conversations
• Transport the child safely to local parks, playgrounds and activities
• Organize and supervise playdates with peers to promote social skills and interactions
• Prepare and provide meals/snacks for the child, accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development, such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational games
• Communicating with parents about the day, any needs, and partner together on child development in order to keep care consistent
• Help with light child-related chores including child laundry, organizing toys, school lunch prep, etc.
• Daily tidying of spaces used throughout the day so that the home is returned to its original condition at the day’s end

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:

Their ideal nanny has a minimum of three years of experience caring for toddlers and is reliable, nurturing, and engaging. Family would also prefer (not required) that the nanny speaks French, Portuguese, or Spanish. Candidate should be interested in a possible long term position with the family. A background or interest in child development would be a bonus, but not required. The nanny should be up to date on TDAP and MMR vaccinations. They should be current with their Child CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to update). At least three childcare related references required.

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
