We are seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to provide dedicated support for a 19-year-old young man with severe autism. The ideal candidate will assist with daily tasks, personal care, and help manage a structured medication regimen. Responsibilities:
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to provide dedicated support for a 19-year-old young man with severe autism. The ideal candidate will assist with daily tasks, personal care, and help manage a structured medication regimen. Responsibilities:
- Personal care, including assisting with bathing, bathroom use, and general hygiene
- Administering medication 3x daily
- Ensuring a structured day with activities, such as watching select TV programs, using the iPad, and outdoor time
- Supervision during meals (monitoring for small bites, encouraging chewing)
- Managing triggers such as loud noises and ensuring he stays cool
- Supervising daily activities, including his afternoon walks and time outside
- Responding to and managing occasional behavioral challenges (e.g., aggression)
- Must be active and physically fit
- Experience working with individuals with autism or special needs
- Ability to understand verbal cues and redirect behavior appropriately
- Ability to provide personal care and understand the unique needs of a non-verbal, autistic adult
- Comfortable with personal care and hygiene assistance
- Patience and understanding of triggers and needs
- CPR/First Aid Certification is required
- Background in behavior management or as a behavior specialist is preferred.
- Willingness to work within a structured environment and follow the established daily schedule.
- Non-disclosure agreement is required
- Open to the possibility of transitioning to a live-in position if a private bathroom is added in the future
- Pay: $35 per hour
- Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Guaranteed hours every week
