About the role:
As a member of the Systems Engineering group, the Laser and Optics Engineer will work in a cross-disciplinary team to develop Nanoverse Technologies optical inspection and laser processing products. These products are sold around the world within the semiconductor, flat panel, consumer electronics, automotive, and aerospace industries.
Assignments call for up to 10% domestic and international travel.

What you will do:
- Define, model and validate optical layouts and designs
- Develop reference standards, methodologies, and analysis routines for precision alignment
- Run bench test experiments with lasers and optical elements in different configurations to optimize the performance of the system
- Design experiments to support research and testing
- Review component specifications and select optical components for new systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with the laser, optical, and/or electronics components and propose solutions
- Build understanding of the customer use-cases to refine the lasing techniques for the desired process
- Collaborate with various disciplines and departments to develop and deploy new products
- Actively participate in concept and design reviews
What we are looking for:
- M.S. in Applied Physics, Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience with lasers, optics, and testbench hardware
- Hands-on experience working with electronics, troubleshooting electronics, and reading electrical schematics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with capital equipment a plus.
