JOB SUMMARY
Nantahala Outdoor Center is seeking an experienced digital marketer who is savvy in SEO, Website Optimization, data collection, analysis, and marketing program optimization. This position will work closely with NOC’s marketing and sales teams to better utilize web and digital technologies to accomplish business goals.
The Digital Marketing Analyst role will focus on all aspects of NOC’s digital brand experience, from connecting with potential guests online to serving existing guests pre- and post-experience. A successful candidate will be solution-driven, tech-savvy, and employ strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A data-first approach to optimizing current campaigns and exploring new growth opportunities is essential. Experience managing digital marketing programs, analyzing data sets, and applying creative solutions to complex business problems is essential.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Drive insights and actions through analytical analysis and reporting to guide departmental and organizational tactics to achieve goals. (35%)
- Define, monitor, and evaluate campaign performance analytics, based on KPI targets and baselines.
- Provide the Marketing team with additional analytical support and deeper insights derived from customer and marketing data.
- Leverage industry-standard analysis and collection tools to model, collect, and analyze/report on data, including Google Analytics, in-house CRM, excel & KPI dashboarding tools.
- Provide analytics for conversion rate optimization and provide testing and strategy implementation to increase website traffic and marketing ROI.
- Continually develop audience insights, personas, and marketing profiles to guide departmental marketing efforts.
Oversee the maintenance and improvement of the family of NOC websites and guest facing digital infrastructure. (35%)
- Lead, or oversee, the continued evolution and growth of strategic SEO strategy providing insights and actions.
- Analyze and provide recommendations for website optimization, copy and content, linking and other factors to improve SEO.
- Provide simple fixes and updates to Word-press websites.
- Manage website updates and calendarization with seasonal changes, updates to trips, homepage, and creation of new
- Oversee all website integrations with third party platforms for CRM and Zapier, Yotpo, Alchemer, and booking systems.
- Coordinate with agency developers to issue fixes and commission ongoing improvements.
Help create, manage, and implement marketing plans and initiatives, including supporting paid digital strategies. (30%)
- Drive positive outcomes for (SEM/PPC) on Google, Bing, etc. to optimize campaign timing, budget management, keywords and writing ad copy.
- Assign and coordinate work with third parties including agencies, contractors, and consultants, in relation to digital advertising and online acquisition.
- Serve as an in-house resource to educate and advise departments on digital marketing best practices, demographics, as well as the latest digital tools, and interactive trends.
- Maintain and adjust budgets, forecasting, and pacing to ensure optimal and predictable spend across various campaigns
- Support day-to-day marketing projects and initiatives.
- Monitor and update third party websites with operational changes, content updates, and review responses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Proven work experience in the SEO and digital marketing field.
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks in a project management framework.
- Experience managing content on a web-based CMS (WordPress). Working knowledge of HTML / CSS / JS.
- Experience creating and improving measurement plans. Demonstrated ability to utilize excel, dashboarding tools, and analytics to draw actionable insights.
- Well versed in SEO / SEM best practices, with the ability to refine and build on existing campaigns.
- Ability to multitask in a high energy, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated history of reliability, conscientiousness, and teamwork.
Education Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- 2 years’ experience in a digital marketing related field or equivalent position.
- 2 years’ experience in SEO campaign management.
- Asana or similar project management software experience.
- B.S/B.A. in Marketing or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Tools, Equipment & Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible schedule of various shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as seasonally necessary.
- Position requires sitting in a stationary position for lengths of time and standing for long periods of time.
- Often odd hours and weekends are needed to support NOC operations from Memorial Day through early October.
Primary Work Location:
- Hybrid (primarily remote based)
- Company travel to Bryson City, NC and other NOC S.E. Operations Required
