Compensation: $857.81 - $1,143.86 per semester depending on prior Naropa experience.

Job Summary:
Teach one course at the graduate level: REL616: Integration Lab 1. This is a 1 credit course, which requires 15 contact hours. This is an in-person course to be taught in the Fall 2025 semester.

Course Description: Integration Lab I - REL-616:
The first in a series of small groups in which students participate throughout their degree program. Emphasis is on providing a reflective container to integrate lived experience, classroom learning, contemplative practice, and exploration of one's professional journey. Through group process, individual reflection, mentoring, and community engagement, the lab facilitates the integration of personal, communal, and theoretical domains of learning in order to support students in vocational discernment and professional development in religious studies and/or spiritual leadership.

This is a four-part series of classes provides a reflective container to integrate lived experience, classroom learning, contemplative practice, and exploration of one's professional journey. Through group dialogue, individual reflection, mentoring, and community engagement, the lab facilitates the integration of personal, communal, and theoretical domains of learning in order to support students in vocational discernment and professional development in religious studies and/or spiritual leadership.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will have had a reflective container to integrate lived experience, classroom learning, contemplative practice, and exploration of their professional journey.
2. Students will have had a exposure to group dialogue, individual reflection, mentoring, and community engagement,
3. Students will have had the opportunity to learn how to lead discussion and present their developing ideas.
4. Students will have had support in vocational discernment and professional development in religious studies and/or spiritual leadership.

Job Duties:
• Prepare course syllabus and course shell on Canvas LMS according to the Academic Affairs syllabi instructions and submit the syllabus to the Office of Academic Affairs by the established deadline.
• Instruct students in-person in accordance with the syllabus, assess student progress, and assign grades to students accordingly, provide written and feedback to students on their progress in the course and on assigned work, submit grades to registrar by approved deadlines.
• Facilitate student dialogue regarding their progress through the MDiv Curriculum map.
• Provide one hour of office hours each week plus availability to students by appointment.
• Obtain permission from the copyright owner for any copyrighted material to be used in source books.
• Complete any and all faculty and staff trainings, including training in Canvas CMS, as required by the Human Resources Office or the Office of Academic Affairs within the time period set for completion by those departments.
• Create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone
encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.

Required Qualifications
• MA, MDIV, or Doctoral degree in Religious Studies or related topics. Prior relevant experience may substitute for degree. (NOTE: each candidate’s experience and demonstrated skills are assessed on a case-by-case basis as to their relevance to the position applied for, as well as whether they may substitute for university teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level).
• Willingness to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and ongoing self- examination.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• A strong understanding of contemplative educational approaches

Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with Online Instructional/Curriculum Design
• Well-developed understanding of group dynamics
• Experience in leading experiential and contemplative practices/discussion in a classroom setting.
• Experience with Canvas or other LMS platforms.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
Faculty members spend most of their time in their classrooms or in virtual meetings with some time in offices. In the classrooms and on campus may experience: interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a faculty member, you may spend extended periods in front of students and speaking as well as:
• Reading academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.
• Operating personal computer and audio-visual equipment.
• Standing or sitting for hours at a time.
• Moving around campus for classes and meetings.

Naropa recognizes the following holidays throughout the year: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Fall Break, 4th Thursday and Friday in November, and Winter Break, the last two weeks in December encompassing the Christmas holiday as well as New Year’s.
