Position Title: Clinician, Mindful Medicaid Team

Reports to: Director, Naropa Community Counseling Center
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
FTE: 25% (10 hrs/week)
Compensation: $45.00 per hour

Job Summary
The NCCC Clinician provides mental health counseling in an outpatient setting for clients with Medicaid. Primary duties include intake assessment and weekly counseling sessions. Provides high-quality, holistic therapy services while excelling at assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain a caseload of at least 10 active clients per week.
• Document and file each session in the client’s record within the date of service.
• Complete intake and other forms as required.
• Work in collaboration with the client to complete the biopsychosocial assessment.
• Review intake admission forms on each client to verify that all documentation and data are complete and in compliance with DORA and Medicaid regulations; obtain any missing data to ensure compliance and success of the therapeutic effort.
• Participate with the client in the initial and ongoing development of treatment plan goals and objectives ensuring the plan is completed within the appropriate timeframes outlined in the program guidelines.
• Ensure all treatment plans are observable and measurable, using client centered language.
• Provide either individual, couple or family therapy sessions every week, as needed, for Medicaid eligible clients.
• Enforce rules and regulations of the program, where applicable.
• Make referrals to appropriate levels of care based on clinical observations of client’s condition.
• Maintain ongoing communication with other community treatment facilities, primary care physicians, hospitals, schools, and multidisciplinary units, etc. as necessary.
• Communicate with clinical supervisor between scheduled supervision sessions as clinically necessary.
• Document results of case consultations and implement recommended therapeutic changes to each client case.
• Maintain accurate schedule in clinical and billing software at all times.
• Follow instructions and keep in compliance with the agency’s policy and procedure on client confidentiality and ethical practices.
• Perform other program-related duties as assigned by the Clinic Director.

What We Require
Educational degree/diploma required:
• Master’s Degree in human services or related field with a minimum of 12 credits related to the direct provision of behavioral health services
Other Experience, Knowledge, Skills, or Competencies Requirements?
• Current, active professional license registered in the state of Colorado with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC)

• High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills
• Able to write high-quality clinical notes that meet the best practice standards of the profession
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Conversant in Spanish

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: lift up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, sit, handle/finger, bend at the waist, reach above shoulder level, kneel, and interruptions/distractions.

Naropa recognizes the following holidays throughout the year: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Fall Break, 4th Thursday and Friday in November, and Winter Break, the last two weeks in December encompassing the Christmas holiday as well as New Year’s.

A comprehensive benefits package is available to full-time employees who work a minimum of 30 hours each week. Employees who work 20 – 29 hours each week are eligible for only the employer-paid short-term & long-term disability, employer-paid life insurance & accidental death and dismemberment, and the retirement plan, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa’s retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.

All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
