General Statement of Duties
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all logistical operations within Nash EMS, ensuring efficient coordination of equipment, supplies, fleet management, DEA-regulated medications, and facility maintenance. This leadership role involves strategic planning, procurement, budgeting, and operational efficiency to support EMS personnel and emergency response teams. Essential Duties and Tasks
DEA-Regulated Medication Oversight:Manage the procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of controlled substances in compliance with DEA, state, and federal regulations.Maintain accurate records and conduct regular audits of all controlled medications to ensure proper tracking, accountability, and security.Ensure EMS staff adherence to protocols for handling and administering controlled substances.Coordinate with medical directors, pharmacists, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with licensing, documentation, and reporting requirements.Investigate discrepancies and report any issues regarding controlled substances to the appropriate authorities.
Fleet Operations:Supervise the, maintenance, and readiness of EMS vehicles, including ambulances, supervisor units, and specialized response vehicles.Implement vehicle tracking systems and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and cost-effectiveness.Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding vehicle safety, licensing, and equipment standards.
Facility & Asset Management:Oversee the maintenance, security, and operational readiness of EMS stations, supply warehouses, and controlled substance storage areas.Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory standards for workplace safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency preparedness.Manage logistics for training events, disaster preparedness drills, and large-scale incident response.
Budgeting & Procurement:Develop and manage the logistics division budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and resource allocation.Work with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts for medical supplies, fleet services, and facility maintenance.Ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with auditing requirements for grants, federal funding, and operational expenses.
Emergency & Disaster Response:Develop and implement logistics strategies for disaster preparedness, mass casualty incidents, and large-scale emergency responses.Ensure rapid deployment of medical resources, controlled substances, and personnel in crisis situations.Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies for mutual aid and resource-sharing during emergencies.
Personnel Management & Training:Supervise logistics staff, including supply coordinators, fleet managers, and support personnel.Provide training on equipment handling, inventory management systems, controlled substance handling, and logistics protocols.Conduct performance evaluations, identify process improvements, and ensure continuous training and compliance among EMS personnel.
