OVERVIEW
NCCC seeks a Master's level intern to provide therapeutic services in outpatient counseling practice. This position will be providing individual therapy to a wide variety of clients in an outpatient practice setting, and as needed in the community. This position will be responsible for conducting clinical intakes which require knowledge of assessing DSM criteria. This position will be required to maintain quality and detailed clinical documentation and paperwork and provide appropriate referrals to collaborative community resources as identified.

The ideal candidate will be an advocate for individuals who are experiencing significant life transitions and barriers to resources, is detail-oriented, and has good time management and critical
thinking skills. Must be pursuing a master's in clinical psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or clinical mental health counseling. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 semesters but ideally 3 or more semesters in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS
Education Experience | Bachelor’s degree in social service field must be pursuing a Master's degree in clinical psychology, social work, professional counseling, or a related field.
Communication | Skilled in speaking to persons with various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Problem-Solving | Experience in developing solutions to complex problems. Demonstrated ability to identify the source of an issue and provide constructive strategies to address it. Practicing curiosity and asking open, honest questions of self and others. Detail-oriented & good time management and critical thinking skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with clinical assessments and documentation
- Carry a caseload of 10-12 individual clients to provide outpatient therapy
- Provide 4 hours of care coordination monthly
- Conduct intake screenings for incoming clients as needed
- Attend and participate in weekly one-on-one supervision
- Maintain quality and detailed clinical documentation
- Take initiative to reach out to expert therapists on our team when additional support is needed for a client
- Conduct clinical intakes which require knowledge in assessing DSM diagnostic criteria
- Complete assessments, sessions, and documentation in Blueprint
- Other duties when needed and when agreed upon with advance notice between team members
COMPENSATION
This position is not compensated. The applicant should be pursuing this position for graduate course credit.
