Job description
The General Manager oversees all aspects of front of house operations including managing staff, budgets, training, employee development, and guest interactions.
Core Leadership Responsibilities:
- Oversee guest experiences from start to finish, ensuring staff is serving food and drink in a manner that enthusiastically represents Fox & The Knife’s mission and values, demonstrating positivity, enthusiasm, and over the top hospitality, with both guests and staff
- Manage all aspects of the front of house operation including staff scheduling, training, correct setup and breakdown before/after service, cleanliness of restaurant, equipment, and furniture
- Be a business-oriented leader, understanding that smart decision making around purchasing, training, hiring, coaching, and scheduling impacts all elements of restaurant operations
- Responsible for the profitability of the location, utilizing weekly Profit and Loss reporting as a tool to track opportunities and wins around sales, costs and profitability
- Seek to increase sales and guest count by maximizing restaurant layout, reservation structure, and a commitment to guest table touches every shift
- Responsible for the development of team members through clear communication of AOR’s, consistent feedback as well as performance reviews
- Fulfill both restaurant opening and restaurant closing shifts as a General Manager
- Understand and exemplify all concept elements including culinary, beverage, and hospitality
- Consistently review operations to identify areas of growth & opportunities for improvement
- Follow and enforce all established food safety, alcohol service, health code, and cleanliness practices
Schedule: Full-Time, varying schedule, available on nights, weekends and holidays
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 5 years of prior restaurant service experience, 3 in management role
- Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
- Experience in high-volume restaurant
- Result-driven, with a proven ability to be a self-starter
- Excellent organizational & communication skills
- Knowledge of safe cleaning and sanitizing practices in a restaurant environment
- Positive attitude, sense of urgency, willingness to develop front of house staff
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
- Lift and transport items in excess of 50 lbs
- Work in an environment of constant exposure to smoke
- Frequently kneel, bend over, lift items above head, work in small or cramped spaces
- Work in areas of extreme high or low temperatures
- Work quickly and safely in stressful circumstances

- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able and willing to communicate in English and Spanish as necessary
- Serve Safe Food Handler Training
- Able to work well in team-oriented environment

Pay: $71,493.00 - $75,472.00 per year
